Epiphany in E

~Sung in the key of "F " sharp, the words of Mother Monster filled my ears. All summer long, I would walk around with these wires coming out the listening holes on the side of my head. The thought of going almost the entire day looking like some kind of robot never really phased me. It was as if it were a natural routine. Stick the earphones in my head, hit the play button and I'm set.
~Over the seventeen years of my life, I have listened to alot of music. The very catchy tune in the background would have me dancing up a storm. I literally would at some point be "Dancing in the Streets." Often times, rather than me competing for my parents attention, they were competing against music to gain my attention. I guess you can say that music was all around me.
~The next sung in the key of "C." From terrible to terrific, music can make my day. There were days that would be the epitome of my life, and days that would be the worst. The surrounding scenery would make its own melodies and harmonies. Nature was an orchestra. Filling me with such joy, the next best thing to the sounds of Mother Nature was my family. Very music oriented, my family comes from talented singers, song writers, and instrumentalists. Music is in my blood. As a kid, I discovered that a lot of these talents come natural to me. Singing since the age of five at parties and school functions, to the age of seventeen singing where ever I am wanted. The sounds of vocalized melodies, including my own, create a blanket of happiness.
~As a teenager in high school, my range of music has grown from the little children nursery rhymes to pop-culture and trending hit list music. My life revolves around the sounds of people saying rhymes in a melodic way with feelings and meanings. The artists' talent of communicating pain or happiness through their intonation and lyrics makes me want to listen to them more. Music is a way to get away from the bad things that happen in your life and set foot in the direction of comfort and happiness. As a teenager in high school, music became my passion, my love.
~With a shiny, yet oddly shaped peice of brass, I sit in band class and play all these wonderful compositions that will be heard by all. Tuned in E flat, the alto saxophone compliments any orchestrated piece of music beautifully or stands alone as a solo masterpiece. At the age of thirteen, I used to think that the instrument sounded like the ugliest thing in the world. Honking like a car horn about to go hoarse, the instrument that is now seen as beautiful was seen totally differently.
~On the road, turning up the radio trying to tune into a good station; I found one. The song sung in "G" minor played and boomed throughout the vehicle. Now the lame songs started to play. Next thing I knew the car fell under total silence. How important is music during car rides as it keeps us entertained during long trips. Now satisfied with my car rides, my one, last resort iPod, is now my first choice.
~As a seventeen year old student in high school, the words of Mother Monster still linger through my head, "I'm on the right track baby I was born this way." Unlike cell phones with voicemail answering services or cranky friends experiencing their own woes, music never tells you no and never ignores your calls. Music creates a "Sweet Escape" thus making an otherwise troubling ride a life worth living. Listen to my compositon as it tells you a story written about me. For this is who I am. Listen. My composition titled "Epiphany in E."
