On the Outside Looking In

Being diferent can be a struggling time for a lot of us.  I for one ,know exactly know what I am talking about.  I have been very diferent from a lot of my so called "friends", classmates for a while now.  Its hard being the "topic" of the conversation, especialy if YOU have to be part of it.  Although they might not say my name directly, it still pertains to me as that is "who" I am.  I'm now a seventeen year old Senior in high school and "I" am mentioned many times because of the previously passed bill of rights to gay marriage.  On the outside looking in, it gives a new perspective of how people "think" of "me".  Some of the things that are said are very hurtfull and hateful, while others give me reasurance that there are respectable people.  Makes me wonder "would they "re-accept" me as their friend after I had told them I was gay?"  So far, the answer to that question is yes! I have become a much confident person knowing I still have friends that will love me for ME and not judge me  because of my sexual orientation.  I am now an openly gay teenager and I am proud of it!  Just some things that happen in my majestic life over and over again. 'O Kupono Ko'u Inoa, For this is who I am.
